Posters: -------- The prepared area for the poster paper is 120 cm wide and 90 cm high. An ID number will be issued for each paper based on the received abstract, and the posters should be displayed on the board with the assigned ID number, which are in basement floor of the Conference Hall. The poster session terminates at the coffee session in the afternoon of 19th (Friday). Contributed Papers: ------------------- The Workshop will include invited talks, contributed oral presentations, and presentations in the form of posters. A collection of these abstracts will be handed out to the conference participants. Proceedings: ------------ The conference proceedings will be published as a special issue of Astronomische Nachrichten (AN); The papers will be refereed. Details of the format will be distributed at the conference. Banquet: -------- The Workshop banquet will be held at the Keio-Plaza Hotel TAMA on Thursday, March 18. The cost of the dinner will be included in your registration. Accommodation: ------------- A block booking has been made for participants at the Keio-Plaza Hotel TAMA (1-43 Ochiai, Tama, Tokyo, 206-0033, Japan). The room rate will be 9,500 JYEN or 10,500 JYEN (single room, including tax). Breakfast is 1,500 JYEN extra. Reservations should be made directly to the hotel (fax +81-42-374-1552); please mention that you are part of the "4TH ASCA SYMPOSIUM" group. The hotel is conveniently located, and the conference hall can be reached from the hotel by train ( two stops, 10 min ). There is no hotel within walking distance from the conference hall. The cost of the banquet for spouses will be 5,000JYEN. Travel Information: ------------------- Instructions on how to reach your hotels or the conference hall are provided in some detail. See the map attached with this circular (postscript version will be available soon). The symposium area can be reached in 3-4 hours from Narita Airport. The temperature in Tokyo will be between 5 and 10 C. Hotel: Keio-Plaza Hotel Tama (address: 1-43 Ochiai, Tama, Tokyo) is near the Keio Tama Center Station on the Keio Sagamihara Line. Conference Hall: Minami-Ohsawa Cultural Hall (address: 2-27 Minami-Ohsawa, Hachioji, Tokyo) is near the Minami-Ohsawa Station on the Keio Sagamihara Line. Please note that the conference hall IS NOT in the campus of Tokyo Metropolitan University, although it is in the walking distance. 90 min Narita Airport --------------------> Shinjuku NEX or Limousine Bus (3,000-3,310 yen) 30 min 5 min Shinjuku ------------> Keio Tama Center -------------> Minami-Ohsawa Keio Sagamihara Keio Sagamihara Line(330 yen) Line(140 yen) How to get to Shinjuku from Narita Airport ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At Narita: First of all, have enough Japanese cash for your journey and registration. Banks close at 15:00 in the city area, and credit cards are not very useful in Japan. Find the Limousine bus service to Shinjuku. The cost is 3,000 yen, and the journey takes 90 minutes. The bus runs from 6:50 until 22:35 at an interval of 30 min during daytime. Or take the NEX(JR Narita Express train) for Shinjuku. The cost is 3,110-3,310 yen, and the journey takes 90 minutes. The NEX runs from 7:43 until 21:43 at an interval of a hour during daytime. At Shinjuku: The bus stops at the west gate of Shinjuku station, and then visits several expensive hotels in this area. Do not fail to get off at the Shinjuku station. The location of the bus stop is just in front of Keio Department Store, underneath of which is the Shinjuku station of Keio line (pronounced as "K-O Sen" in Japanese). Shinjuku station is a maze. Most of the directional instructions are shown in English, but you may need to ask someone to find the Keio Shinjuku station. How to get to Keio Plaza Tama from Keio Shinjuku station ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At Keio Shinjuku station: Buy a ticket for 330 yen. The easiest way is to take the express train ("Tokkyu" in Japanese, and signs are marked in red) heading towards Hashimoto of Keio Sagamihara Line. This express train usually leaves from platform number 2, and runs every 20 min (e.g. 10:10, 10:30, 10:50 ...) during daytime. The last express leaves at 19:50, and afterwards you need take local trains heading towards Hashimoto. The last service leaves around 23:30. Do not take trains for directions other than Hashimoto. The journey to Keio Tama Center is about 30 min. With the express train, Keio Tama Center is the 3rd stop. Keio Plaza Tama Hotel: get off at Keio Tama Center (pronounced as "K-O Tama Centar" or simply as "Tama Centar"). The hotel is a 1 minute walk from the south gate of the station at the right side of the promenade. How to get to Minami-Ohsawa Cultural Hall from Keio Tama Center station ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At Keio Tama Center station: Buy a ticket for 140 yen. Take a local train of Keio Sagamihara Line towards Hashimoto and get off at Minami-Ohsawa which is the second stop. Do not take a express train. It does not stop at Minami-Ohsawa. At Minami-Ohsawa station: When you leave the gate of the station, turn left and walk straight ahead for 2 min. Passing a road, you will reach Nakago Park and find a building Minami-Ohsawa Cultural Hall on your right. The hall is 40-50 meters inside of the park. Good luck on your journey.
